Today it was announced on National Nightly News that The Girlscouts of America will be outsourcing their uniforms to china now. Well, its 'up for bids'. I sent an email to the GSOA main office and have yet to receive a reply. I am not going to hold my breath. Shame on YOU Girl Scout Leaders! SHAME!
Currently they are using a company from New jersey that they have used for 10 years. Now, in name of cost(?). So basicallyl, we are giving up in America so we cansave a dollar? We have always been a nation that would "MAKE DO with what we have to work with and workda round the obsticles while staying LOYAL to American Values and Ways". Now we have become a bunch of wussies who are running scared. I SERIOUSLY DOUBT that the cost of their uniforms (which members are paying for anyway) are going to want their uniforms bought from child labor in China. The people who are making this decision have already came up with up some lame excuses why they want to do this atrocity. If they really knew that little girls the same age as they are making their suits for a quater a day, living in the companies work camps, buying their food and supplies directly BACK from that same work camp and really bringing home less than One% of their income.

The girl scouts do sell abut two million cookies a year but see little money from that. They buy their own uniforms and pay dues. So I guess that’s one side of the coin. But still, I cannot see an American as Apple Pie institution going to china for any reason!
